Lady Gaga has decided that her fans have waited long enough to hear her latest single, so she took to her official Twitter page to announce the new release date.

"Can't wait any longer, single coming Friday," the pop sensation said on Monday. The single, which will now hit airwaves on February 11, was originally set to be released on February 13, the same day as the 2011 Grammy Awards. The pop superstar is up for six Grammy awards.

In late January, Gaga Tweeted the lyrics to her upcoming single "Born This Way" off the new album of the same name.

The music superstar penned the song and encourages listeners, "Don't hide yourself in regret / just love yourself and you're set" and includes a chorus that says, "I'm beautiful in my way / 'cause god makes no mistakes / I'm on the right track baby / I was born this way."

The new album will hit stores on May 23, 2011, according to the singer's previous Tweet.

Lady Gaga promised fans at a concert stop in Gdsank, Poland in November that the follow-up album to "The Fame" will be the "greatest album of this decade."

"Not for nothing, the album's finished and it's [expletive] really good," Gaga said according to Billboard magazine. She added that the new album is "so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or an outfit, or a [expletive] meat dress...'Born This Way' is about what keeps us up at night and what makes us afraid."

Lady Gaga also seemed to confirm recent rumors that the new album could contain up to 20 tracks. "It used to be kind of a faux pas to put out too much music on your album, but I feel like you guys deserve all of the records I do, 'cause I work hard on them," she said. "So who knows, you might get, like, 20 new Gaga songs."

Elton John, who recently collaborated with Gaga on a track called "Hello, Hello" for the upcoming film "Gnomeo & Juliet," told Entertainment Weekly in October that he's heard some rough cuts from "Born This Way" and said the album was, "amazing."

"'Born This Way,' which is the title song, will completely get rid of Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive.' This is the new 'I Will Survive.' That was the gay anthem," John told the magazine. "Actually, it's not a gay anthem -- it can apply to anybody."
