LL Cool J takes down intruder in his Studio City home
An intruder learned the hard way he broke into the wrong celebrity home. He found himself face-to-face with LL Cool J, who took the matter into his own hands.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed with KABC Television, OnTheRedCarpet.com's parent company, that the burglary suspect made his way into the 44-year-old star's home at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22.
The hip hop singer and actor, who plays NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna on "NCIS: Los Angeles," heard noise downstairs and went to see what was going on. He then encountered the intruder and overpowered him, officials said.
He held onto the suspect until police arrived. No one was seriously injured, though police say the suspect suffered a few bruises. The suspect was booked on a burglary charge. Police officials later identified him as a 59-year-old transient.
"LL CooL J, and his family, are safe and thank everyone for their thoughts and concern," the star's rep said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. "As a father, husband and citizen, he is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities on this private matter."
