Kristin Chenoweth sings 'Popular' parody about Anthony Weiner (Video)
They're not friends, but Kristin Chenoweth has decided to make Anthony Weiner her new project.
The pint-sized actress, singer and Broadway star appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Tuesday and performed a parody of "Popular," a song she sang while playing Glinda in the Tony-winning musical "Wicked" for almost a year, starting from its original run in 2003. The lyrics were changed to mock Weiner's latest "sexting" scandal.
The song includes lines such as "You will be popular / The right kind of popular / I'll teach you to zip your fly / You won't be that guy / With a camera down his pants / I'll teach you what tweets to tweet / Something clean and sweet / We'll make sure you get your chance." (Watch a video of Kristin Chenoweth's performance -- warning: contains sexually-explicit lyrics).
Weiner resigned from Congress over sexually-explicit Twitter photos two years ago and it was recently discovered that he had send even more racy messages to women. The news has marred his current New York City mayoral campaign.
