Kristin Chenoweth addresses Jake Pavelka dating reports
Kristin Chenoweth has responded to reports about dating Jake Pavelka, a former star of ABC's dating series "The Bachelor," but remains coy about the nature of their relationship.
The 44-year-old Broadway and TV actress, known for roles on shows such as "Glee" and "The Good Wife," and Pavelka, 34, have been photographed together in recent weeks. In November, they were seen at a diner in West Hollywood. Several days ago, A paparazzi picture posted on TMZ showed them at a cafe near the reality star's Texas home.
"We have been spending a little time together," Chenoweth told People magazine, when asked about the dating reports.
The outlet said the two met at an event in October. Pavelka, a pilot, competed in the fifth season of "The Bachelorette" and went on to star in the 14th season of "The Bachelor." He proposed to winner Vienna Girardi but the two split months later.
Chenoweth had a relationship with "The West Wing" creator and "The Social Network" writer Aaron Sorkin in the mid-2000s, though it is unclear when the two split. In a 2010 interview with Time magazine, Chenoweth admitted that the Harriet Hayes character on Sorkin's "Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip" series was "loosely" based on her.
Chenoweth has meanwhile been spending time in Los Angeles. On Sunday, she joined celebrities such as Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones and a slew of stars from "Glee" at the Trevor Project's "Trevor Live" event, honoring Katy Perry (see photos). Chenoweth has also been rehearsing for her gig as a co-host of the 2012 American Country Awards, which air on December 10 on FOX. The actress has recorded country music herself.
In September 2011, Chenoweth released her fourth studio album, "Some Lessons Learned" and told OTRC.com that Dolly Parton was the "greatest country influence" on her, adding: "I think you may hear a little bit of that in the record. I did co-write a song, 'What Would Dolly Do' - 'WWDD' - about how she would handle heartbreak. "It's got a little bluegrass roots feel and it makes me think of how I grew up hearing music."
The singer also said her love life was a big influence on the album, but she tries to keep the details private.
"I lead a very private life. I'm not a paparazzi queen," Chenoweth said. "I don't like my love life talked about. But I knew that when I did this record I would have to disclose heartache, hurting someone, relationship with my dad, relationship with my mom, my relationship with the Lord -all of it. It is very scary. It's a risk. I was very nervous."
When asked about what was on her bucket list, Chenoweth said at the time: "I've been the runaway bride twice. I've had some great men and I've had some real turkeys. I'd like to meet the man. I feel ready, for the first time in my life."
