Kristen Wiig leaving 'SNL'? Comedian gets emotional final skit - Watch

05/21/2012 by Kristina Lopez

Was the May 19 season finale of "Saturday Night Live" Kristen Wiig's last show as a cast member of the long-running sketch comedy show?

That may be the case as Wiig and her fellow cast members appeared in a final skit for the episode which saw Wiig step up as "one particular student who is leaving this summer."

During the skit, which can be seen below, she danced with her fellow cast members, host Mick Jagger and executive producer Lorne Michaels to the tunes of Rolling Stones classics "She's a Rainbow" and "Ruby Tuesday."

Wiig has been on "Saturday Night Live" for seven seasons and is known for characters like the Target lady, Gilly, Penelope and impressions of Taylor Swift, Bjork, Kathie Lee Gifford and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

The 38-year-old comedian and a few other cast members could been seen holding back tears during the skit and sign off. NBC has made no announcement about Wiig's departure. Cast members Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis are also rumored to be leaving but Lorne Michaels said recently, according to the Associated Press, that announcement about cast changes will be confirmed in the summer.

Wiig has hit major success on the big screen with the "Bridesmaids," which she was nominated for an Academy Award alongside co-writer Annie Mumolo for Best Original Screenplay. Wiig and Mumolo lost to Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris." She has also appeared in "Friends With Kids," "Paul," "Adventureland" and "Knocked Up." Wiig also has several films slated for release later this year and next year.
