Kristen Wiig felt 'lost' after 'SNL,' talks Ben Stiller, 'Mitty'

Kristen Wiig ended her run on "Saturday Night Live" after seven seasons last year. Her last show on the sketch comedy series included an emotional send-off skit where she danced with her fellow cast members at the time, the episode's host, Mick Jagger, and executive producer Lorne Michaels to the tunes of Rolling Stones classics "She's a Rainbow" and "Ruby Tuesday."

The 39-year-old comedian recently opened up about adjusting to a new schedule since leaving "Saturday Night Live" and her upcoming projects, which included co-starring with Ben Stiller in the film "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty."

"The show was seven years of my life and a six-day work week and you're constantly with your friends all day, all night," Wiig told Access Hollywood on Thursday, April 18, at CinemaCon.

"You sort of live and breathe the show," she added. "Then, when it's over, you kind of feel a little lost ... it was definitely an adjustment - even just the hours and [no longer] being in New York."

Wiig has hit major success on the big screen with the "Bridesmaids," which she was nominated for an Academy Award alongside co-writer Annie Mumolo for Best Original Screenplay in 2012. Wiig and Mumolo lost to Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris." She has also appeared in "Friends With Kids," "Paul," "Adventureland" and "Knocked Up."

In February it was announced that she had joined the cast of "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" and Wiig told Access Hollywood that she was leaving "in a few days" to film the movie. Wiig also appears in the upcoming film "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," which will hit theaters on December 25.

The movie is based on a short story from 1939. Stiller stars in the film as Walter Mitty and he also directed the movie.

"I was just in awe of how anybody does that," Wiig said of Stiller pulling double duty as actor and director. "That just seems very intimidating to me.

She added that Stiller "had everything so organized and he just did an amazing job ... he never showed stress or anything."
