Kristen Stewart's 'Twilight' ride: 7 memorable moments and quotes (Video)
The day has finally arrived - "Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," believed to be the final film in the hit vampire series, was released on November 16 and OTRC.com is taking a look back at several past interviews with main star Kristen Stewart, 22, from over the past few years, dating back to the first "Twilight" film.
Check out seven memorable moments and quotes from Kristen Stewart's "Twilight" ride:
1. Kristen Stewart: I hope people like "Twilight."
The first "Twilight," which introduced the audience to Stewart's character, high school student Bella Swan, was released in November 2008. It marked the first major leading film role for the actress, who had previously appeared in movies such as "Panic Room," "Cold Creek Manor" and "Into the Wild."
The "Twilight" movies are based on a popular book series by Stephenie Meyer, which already had a fan base just itching to see the characters come to life on the big screen.
"It's all so positive that it feels good to have a movie come out that I worked so hard on and put so much of myself into that people are actually going to see," Stewart, then 18 years old, told OTRC.com in the fall of 2008, just before the first "Twilight" was released. "I'm so used to doing independent films." (watch video)
"I dunno," she said about the fan frenzy. "We'll see when the movie comes out. I hope people like it, because nobody's seen it and there's all this hype around it."
2. Kristen Stewart: "It's odd to be a figurehead."
Stewart did not read "Twilight" the book before auditioning for the film - she caught up later.
"I like the book just as much as the fans like the book," she told OTRC.com in 2008. "It is odd to be a figurehead for them because it's something so personal. It's just very weird to have other people care about it as much as me."
3. Kristen Stewart: Bella and Edward - a "quaint love story."
"I like that it's really flawed," she told OTRC.com in 2008 about her character's relationship with Robert Pattinson's - the vampire Edward Cullen. "I like that it's really the last thing that they should be doing, is having a romance for them. That it's really, really a bad idea and very dangerous for both of them. But that whatever it is stronger than that and that it's not arbitrary - it's not a manipulative love story."
"It's really rooted in the characters," she said. "It's really very character-driven. I know it looks like a big effects movie but it's not. It's a love story. It's a really quaint love story."
4. Kristen Stewart + Bella = BFFs?
"I would totally want to be friends with Bella," Stewart told OTRC.com in 2009, just before the release of the second "Twilight" film, "New Moon." "I don't know if she would be my friend. She's very wrapped up in the world of werewolves and vampires. I mean, yeah, she's awesome. I would totally be her friend but she's sort of an introvert." (watch video)
5. Kristen Stewart was adorably shy at the 2010 Oscars.
Following the success of the first two "Twilight" movies, Stewart and co-star Taylor Lautner were tapped to be presenters at the 82nd Academy Awards in Los Angeles in March 2010. Wearing a dark blue silk organza Monique Lhullier strapless gown, the actress walked the red carpet and waved shyly at photographers before she posed for pictures (watch video).
6. Kristen Stewart said the "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" birth scene was "brutal."
In July 2011, at San Diego Comic-Con, Stewart recalled filming the scene that sees Bella going through a painful and dangerous delivery of her and Edward's child, Renesmee.
"It was a two-day labor process," she told OTRC.com "It was really brutal. It was hardcore. It was fun, though." (watch video).
7. The "Twilight" trio's hands and feet were immortalized in cement.
Two weeks before the release of "Breaking Dawn - Part 1," Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner had their hand and footprints placed in cement in a ceremony at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood (watch video).
"This is so crazy for us," Stewart said.BONUS VIDEO: A year before "Twilight" was released, Kristen Stewart sported blonde hair! Check out a video of her at the premiere of "Into The Wild."
