Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson cheerful in first reunion interview
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner made their first joint promotional appearance together since San Diego Comic-Con, to promote "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2."
Much was made about how Stewart and Pattinson would interact following a break-up and reunion in the past several months after Stewart admitted to cheating with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders, but the pair appeared comfortable together, occasionally smiling at and touching each other throughout their interview with MTV on November 1.
Lautner was also in good spirits, keeping up with the sharp wit of Pattinson and Stewart as the trio laughed about the past films and what their futures have in store.
After watching their first MTV Movie Awards interview from 2008, Stewart got embarrassed and touched Pattinson's thigh several times, while walking back and forth. Several clips from the 30-minute interview can be seen below and the whole interview is available on MTV.com.
When asked which scene from the first "Twilight" film they would re-shoot, Pattinson said he would choose his first kiss with Stewart, which caused the actress to smile. They called the "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" birth scene one of their "most fun," or as Pattinson put it, "that was hilarious."
Pattinson and Stewart spent Halloween night together and told MTV that Stewart was dressed as Natalie Portman from the movie "Closer" and Pattinson wore "a $3 mask from 7-11."
MTV also quizzed the cast on "Twilight" fan terminology, including the word "Krisbians," or "women who would go gay for Kristen Stewart." Pattinson also admit to looking at the website Robsessed.com.
The pair have taken home MTV Movie Awards for Best Kiss for the past four years. When asked whether they would be taking home a fifth Award, Stewart said that they might have a good chance.
"I feel like every scene in this movie culminates with a kiss," Stewart said of the final film. "We always really, really prepare and execute our plan quite well.Stewart said that she was gunning for both Pattinson and Lautner's casting in the "Twilight Saga." She said she "takes credit" for both of the actors.
When asked if he gives Stewart credit for his career, Pattinson said, "Ummm... no, I'm going to take credit for Kristen's [career]. I'm just going to say it. You can say whatever you want in interviews!"
Of his first audition, Pattinson said that he was convinced he would not get the job as Edward in the film after watching other actors in their topless auditions.
"I was extremely nervous. I was like, crippled with self-consciousness when I was doing auditions at the time. And [director] Catherine [Hardwicke] was doing this thing, where as a kind of default gesture of goodwill to the Twilight universe, you had to take your shirt off in the audition. And I saw all these other guys, just literally stood there with their shirts off for a photograph and I said to Catherine, 'If that's what we're being judged on, I haven't got the job.'"
The first part of "Breaking Dawn" was released in November 2011 and shows Bella and Edward wed and conceive a daughter. The birth nearly kills Bella, who is subsequently turned into a vampire. In the final installment, which is set for release on Nov. 16, Bella and Edward fight the Volturi to protect their daughter Renesmee.
"The first, I felt a lot more free in the first one. It felt quite dangerous. This one came - the bigger something gets, it gets quite heavy, like you're part of a machine at that point," Pattinson told Entertainment Tonight later on November 1. "You know your face is still going to be on the front of it, but you have a little bit less control. You have a lot less control. So it's kind of scarier, so it's good that [director] Bill [Condon] was very sympathetic to that."
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is slated for release on November 16. Watch clips from Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner's MTV interview below.
