Kristen Bell talks Disney's 'Frozen,' family, love of 'Little Mermaid'
Kristen Bell fulfilled a longtime childhood dream of taking part in a Disney animated film by portraying a princess in "Frozen," which was released just ahead of Thanksgiving 2013.
The U.S. holiday and the film have a common theme -- family. Bell, who expanded hers this year -- she gave birth to a baby girl and married longtime beau Dax Shephard -- talked to OTRC.com about "Frozen" at the movie's recent premiere in Los Angeles.
The 33-year-old actress, known best for her title role in "Veronica Mars," told OTRC.com she's wanted to take part in a Disney animated movie since she was five years old.
"'The Little Mermaid' was significant to me," she said.

In "Frozen," which is based on the classic fairy tale "The Snow Queen," Bell plays Princess Anna. Idina Menzel, a Broadway star and "Glee" alum, portrays older sister Princess Elsa, a future queen who has the power to control snow and ice -- which comes with consequences.
"I would say siblings see this movie different. I would even broaden it to family members. Although they are sisters by blood, the context is really family and who you fight for and who you choose to believe in, even when they don't believe in themselves and this idea that you just cannot get rid of your family and you shouldn't.
"Frozen" also stars Jonathan Groff, who once co-starred with Menzel on "Glee," as mountain man Kristoff. He also said he fulfilled a childhood dream to star in a Disney movie. Josh Gad, recently seen in "Jobs," plays the sisters' childhood snowman, Olaf.
