Kristen Bell doesn't want a wedding ceremony with Dax Shepard
Kristen Bell might be engaged to actor Dax Shepard, but the actress has no intention of having a wedding.
"We're just not having a wedding, so there's no story to report there," Bell told Us Weekly on Tuesday. "I mean, we're still getting married, but we're going to do it whenever we feel like it... The fact that he asked me to marry him is of a little more importance than me planning a party."
Bell, 30, and Shepard, 36, announced their engagement in February 2010 after appearing in the romantic comedy "When in Rome" together. Even though she's not excited about a wedding, Bell admits that she's hooked on Shepard's sense of humor.
"He constantly keeps me laughing: when I'm sad, mad, frustrated, annoyed. Regardless of what it is he can lighten the mood. He'll do anything that the mood requires," she said. "I can't get frustrated and that is a very powerful weapon. Comedy is a very powerful weapon. He's so funny that it's overwhelming."
In March, Bell called Shepard her "husband" on Twitter, leading news outlets to wonder if the two had secretly married. The actress' spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com that Bell and Shepard are not married.
Bell is known for her sassy title role in the series "Veronica Mars," which ran between 2004 and 2007, and for her parts in movies such as "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," "Couples Retreat" and "You Again." She is also the narrator on the CW show "Gossip Girl" and appeared in the recent film "Scream 4".
Shepard plays Crosby Braverman on the comedy show "Parenthood" and has appeared in movies such as "Idiocracy" and "Baby Mama."
It was reported in February that Bell is headed back to television and is set to star in a new original Showtime series called "House of Lies" opposite Oscar-nominated actor Don Cheadle. The show is based on the book " House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time."
