Alley, 59, launched her own diet plan called Organic Liaison earlier this year. She said in 2009 she had regained weight she had lost under the Jenny Craig program and weighed 230 pounds.

In late September, she said she dropped 50 pounds and posted a picture of herself from the chest up, leaning on a table alongside five men. Alley said the photo was from a shoot in Italy.

"THE GOOD NEWS....I've lost 50 lbs!!!" Alley wrote on her Twitter page recently. "THE BAD NEWS...I have 40 more to go!!! ...lol.....at least I'm more than half the way there!! I'm far from SKINNY....but I'm at least far from Shamu ...no insult to Shamu intended."

Alley, a native of Wichita, Kansas, is known for roles in movies such as Look Who's Talking and as Rebecca Howe on the 1980s hit television show Cheers. However, over the past several years, the media has highlighted her weight gain.

Alley played herself in the short-lived 2005 sitcom Fat Actress and documented her latest weight loss battle on her reality series Kirstie Alley's Big Life. She famously showed off a slimmer bikini body on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2006 after losing 75 pounds on the Jenny Craig program.
