Kings of Leon says 'Glee' cant use their songs

The Kings of Leon are not Gleeks. The band, known for their hits "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody", tells the UK edition NME they turned down having their music used for the hit television show Glee.

Bassist Jared Followill tells the magazine, "We could have sold out so much more. We turn stuff down constantly." Followill also reveals the band snubbed an appearance on Ugly Betty as well.

We got an offer to appear on an episode of Ugly Betty. They wanted us to play ourselves, Followill says. We were supposed to come in and help her out with some problem or other."

The Kings of Leon is not the first music act to snub the show. Last season Coldplay turned down an opportunity to appear Glee, but were later forced to issue a mea culpa to show creator Ryan Murphy after finally watching the show.

My favorite rejection was Bryan Adams. Coldplay and Bryan Adams were really the only rejections, Murphy to The Hollywood Reporterback in June. But Coldplay called a week ago and said, 'Were sorry, you can have our catalog.' "
