Khloe Kardashian talks about Lamar Odom marriage: 'Divorce is not an option'
Khloe Kardashian recently spoke out about her marriage to Lamar Odom and the future of their E! reality show.
Kardashian, 27, is known for being a part of one of the most talked about television families. She recently appeared on the cover of People magazine, which showcases the starlet posing with a bright yellow headline that reads: "Fighting for my marriage."
"I'm a modern girl, but you should put your husband first," the reality starlet told People. "I like to think divorce is not an option."
The reality star has been married to NBA player Lamar Odom since September 2009. The pair were married in a private ceremony, but shared the special day with fans with an E! special. The couple recently starred in their own reality show, "Khloe & Lamar," which showcased some of the pair's rough patches.
The season 2 finale will air on May 13. Rumors recently spread online that the episode will be the last for the series. Kardashian's rep said the show was not canceled.
"It's just on hold now while schedules are figured out," the spokesperson said. "It will depend on their schedules, as Lamar's basketball schedule is a priority."
Last month, Odom was put on the inactive list for the rest of the season and has parted ways with his team of one season, the Dallas Mavericks. Previously, he had been with the Lakers since 2004. Before that he played for the Miami Heat for a season and started out his career with the Los Angeles Clippers.
"We just wanted to prioritize a little," Kardashian told People in her recent interview. "We just wanted a little pause. Part of being married is knowing when your husband needs your support."
The starlet also told the NBC show "Access Hollywood" that she and Odom "just want the summer to ourselves and for his kids and his career," referring to her husband's two children from a previous relationship. "It's not an end, it's just a pause."
When asked what they'll do with their time away from the cameras, Odom had a pretty good idea.
"We're going to strike gold, have a baby!" he said with a smile.
"Have a baby, I guess," Khloe continued. "We try all the time, it's more fun for practice."
Kardashian has in the past had to shoot down rumors of fertility problems.
Last month, the Kardashian family reportedly signed a $40 million deal with the E! Network to continue their main reality series, "Keeping up with the Kardashians" and its various spin-off shows.
The channel announced on April 25 that they had reached a deal for another three years of the series but didn't disclose details. Odom has his own package deal which includes "Khloe & Lamar."
The seventh season of "Keeping up with the Kardashians" is set to premiere on Sunday, May 20.
