Khloe Kardashian Odom to co-host 'The X Factor' - report
Khloe Kardashian Odom has reportedly been hired as a co-host of Simon Cowell's FOX singing contest series "The X-Factor," which is currently in its second season.
The news was reported by E! Online on Monday, October 15. The website's parent station, E! Entertainment, airs Odom's family's reality show "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and its spin-offs. The outlet said she will make her debut on the series in November.
Odom has not commented and FOX has not confirmed the casting. A spokesperson for the channel told OTRC.com on Monday: "We have not announced any hosts for 'The X Factor.'"
Odom has never hosted a television show before, only radio programs. She previously appeared as an award presenter at events such as the Teen Choice Awards and the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.
Cowell launched "The X Factor," which is based on his British series, on the network last year following his exit from "American Idol." He serves as a judge alongside record executive L.A. Reid and season 2 newcomers Britney Spears and fellow pop star Demi Lovato.
Several outlets have reported for weeks that Odom was in talks to co-host the show. Mario Lopez, host of the syndicated entertainment series "Extra" and a former cast member of "Saved By The Bell," was said to be in the running as well. E! Online said Odom's co-host has not yet been named but that Lopez was "all but locked down as the other lead emcee."
The debut season of "The X Factor" was hosted exclusively by British presenter Steve Jones. He was axed at the end of last season, along with judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul. Abdul, who also worked with Cowell on "American Idol," is set to appear as a guest judge on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" this week, starting on Monday.
