Kevin Spacey took to Twitter to debut something ... well, adorable.
The 53-year-old actor, who is known for his serious roles in films including "American Beauty" and "The Usual Suspects," showcased a sensitive demanor with the debut of his new puppy, Boston, on Saturday, May 4.
"New member of the family," he Tweeted, along with the Twitter handle for the North Shore Animal League. "Her name is Boston in honor of the city."
The actor has been active in responding to the recent Boston Marathon bombing, having visited both the victims and the cops who were involved.
At least three people, including an 8-year-old boy, were killed and dozens of people were wounded after two explosions went off near the crowded finish line at the marathon, one of the largest in the United States, on April 15. Immediately following the attack, he told the Boston Herald that he felt it was his duty to do something.
"I'm not a doctor or first responder, but if people know me from movies, and walking into their work space or room brings a smile to their face -- with the challenges these amazing citizens have in front of them - then that's worth coming," he explained to the outlet. "The cops, nurses, doctors, hospital staff and patients that I have met over the past few days have given me the greatest feeling of pride in being an American and made me understand that we are all Boston."
The two-time Oscar winner is known for his numerous roles including "L.A. Confidential," "21," "Pay It Forward," "Horrible Bosses" and "K-PAX." He also stars in Netflix's new original series, "House of Cards," which sees him playing conniving politican Francis Underwood.
