Kevin Hart to host MTV Video Music Awards, appears in promo with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Comedian Kevin Hart to host MTV Video Music Awards and appeared in a promotional video for the event, with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
In the video, Hart tries to get Kardashian and Kanye to join forces with him to create the new "it" couple, "KevYeKim." When the pair acts incredulously, he suggests they shorten their name to "KKK" and asks Kardashian if she has a white hoodie.
Hart is an actor and stand-up comedian, he is best known for his role in the ABC series, "The Big House." He has also appeared in films like "Scary Movie 4," "Fool's Gold," "Extreme Movie," "The Five-Year Engagement" and "Think Like a Man."
The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, air live from the Los Angeles Staples Center on Thursday, September 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Check out the full list of nominees here. Fans can vote on their favorite nominees on the network's online voting system, up until August 24.
Artists set to perform at the 2012 MTV VMAs include Pink and Alicia Keys, who will both debut songs from their upcoming albums, and boy band One Direction. Other performers will be announced at a later date.
Rihanna and Drake led the MTV VMA nominations with five nominations apiece. Both are up for the big prize of "Video of the Year" with Rihanna getting two nods in the category for her single "We Found Love" and for her work on Drake's single "Take Care." Drake also got additional nominations for "Best Hip Hop Video," "Best Male Video" and "Best Art Direction.
Rihanna also received nominations for "Best Female Video" and "Best Pop Video."
Katy Perry is a close second to Drake and Rihanna with four VMA nods.
MTV also announced a new category for the award show. Artists will now compete for "Best Electronic Dance Music Video."
