Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw team up for 'Brothers of the Sun' tour - See dates
Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw are teaming up to hit the road for the "Brothers of the Sun" Tour, set to kick off in June 2012. The 19-date tour is the first time in 10 years the country singers have toured together.
"Tim and I have been great friends since we first toured together, and I can't wait to get back on the road with him," Chesney said in a statement. "He's one of my closest friends in music and in life, and I know this tour is going to be something special."
"Our friendship was forged on the road, so it's going to be a blast heading out with Kenny again," McGraw added. "We'll be having as much fun on stage as the fans will be having in the audience."
The tour kicks off on June 2, in Tampa, Florida. Other tour stops include Philadelphia, Dallas, Detroit and Atlanta. The tour will also have special guests Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and Jake Owen.
Chesney and Grace Potter won Music Video of the Year for "You and Tequila" at the 2011 Country Music Association Awards earlier this month. He recently released the fifth single called "Reality" from his 2010 album "Hemingway's Whiskey."
McGraw's "Number One Hits" single "Felt Good On My Lips," spent three weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs earlier this year. McGraw has also made a name for himself as an actor starring in high-profile films like the Oscar-nominated "The Blind Side" and "Country Strong."
Tickets for the Dallas, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Chicago, East Rutherford, Detroit, and Foxboro shows will go on sale Saturday, December 3. Sale info for the remaining dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
