Kendra Wilkinson: First 'Dancing With the Stars' practice was a 'nightmare'
Kendra Wilkinson says the first day of practice for "Dancing With the Stars" was a "nightmare" but that her fellow cast members of season 12, which begins on March 21, will help her feel at ease on ABC's ballroom dancing show.
The 25-year-old Playboy model and ex-girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, who appeared on the E! reality show "The Girls Next Door," is one of 11 celebrities who will compete on the show's newest season, which is set to begin on March 21 (see a full list).
"It's only been three days of practice," Wilkinson told OnTheRedCarpet.com on Monday, following the cast announcement. "I'm getting there. Practice makes perfect and that's what I'm going to keep doing, is practicing. But I look really good at practice. Every day gets better. The first day was a nightmare. The second day was okay. The third day ... was, 'Okay, I'm myself."
"Of course I'm aiming for the gold, I'm aiming for the trophy," she added. "But I think the biggest thing is just to have a good time. The other celebrities, those are the ones who are going to help me with having such a great time. I'm easily scared when it comes to other celebrities. But everybody's human. Everybody's just so funny and so down-to-earth and if anything, they're the ones who are going to make me feel at ease with this whole thing."
The reality star will compete with professional partner Louis van Amstel, ABC's "Good Morning America" announced on Wednesday, along with the rest of the star pairings. Van Amstel's previous celebrity dance partners have included reality stars Niecy Nash and Kelly Osbourne as well as actress Lisa Rinna.
Wilkinson appeared on "The Girls Next Door," which chronicled her life as one of Playboy Hugh Hefner's live-in girlfriends at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles, from 2005 to 2009. She later received her own reality series, "Kendra," which has aired three seasons.
Season 12 of "Dancing With the Stars" returns on Monday, March 21 at 8 p.m. ET with a two-hour premiere and "Dancing with the Stars: The Results Show" premieres the following week Tuesday, March 29 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
