Kelsey Grammer developing TV pilot about 'love' and 'crazy people' in life
Kelsey Grammer, who recently went through a divorce and then wed for the fourth time, is developing a comedy project "loosely based" on his love life.
The 56-year-old actor is no stranger to comedy, having played Dr. Frasier Crane in the long-running sitcoms "Frasier" and "Cheers." Grammer told OnTheRedCarpet.com host Rachel Smith that the FOX network has "shown some interest" in his new sitcom but added he does not plan to appear in it himself.
"I might direct it," he said. "Maybe direct a pilot. It's based upon loosely based upon someone like me. It's a terrific story about love and the crazy people that can come into a person's life."
Grammer's third wife Camille, mother of their son and daughter and a 43-year-old cast member of the Bravo reality show "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," filed for divorce in July 2010 after some 13 years of marriage. Their separation was finalized in February.
Grammer later married Kayte Walsh, a 30-year-old British flight attendant, on stage at the Longacre Theatre in New York, where the actor starred in a revival of the musical "La Cage aux Folles."
Kelsey Grammer has been married three times before. He was married to dance instructor Doreen Alderman from 1982 to 1990 and they have one daughter, Spencer, who starred in the ABC Family comedy series "Greek" and welcomed her first child, a boy, on October 10.
Kelsey Grammer and former stripper Leigh-Anne Csuhany were married from 1992 to 1993 and have no children. During this time, he had a daughter, Greer, out of wedlock.
Grammer is currently promoting his new drama series "Boss," which sees him playing a ruthless mayor of Chicago. "The show debuts on the Starz cable network on October 21 at 10 p.m. ET. You can also watch it online and check out a trailer and a clip below.
