Kelly Preston praises Kirstie Alley's diet program, will support her on 'Dancing With the Stars'
Kelly Preston has praised Kirstie Alley's diet program and says she plans to watch her friend in person as she competes on "Dancing With the Stars" later this month.
Alley, a 60-year-old actress and former Jenny Craig diet spokesperson, has struggled with her weight for years and poked fun about the issue on her own television shows. She says that she has lost more than 60 pounds and wants to lose up to 40 more.
Alley's "Organic Liaison" program features organic food and drink products and a "Body Game Manual."
Preston, 48, welcomed a son, Benjamin, with actor-husband John Travolta in November 2010. They also have a daughter, Ella, who is 10. Their son Jett died at age 16 in 2009.
Preston, 48, says she herself has "more than a pound or two" of baby weight to lose and plans to use Alley's products.
"I've seen it, I've tasted it, it tastes great," Preston told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the opening of Alley's "Organic Liaison" health food store in Los Angeles on Wednesday, March 9. "It really is something that is good for you, too. Really good for you."
The 12th season is set to premiere on ABC on March 21 at 8 p.m. ET. Preston said that she will sit in the audience during the tapings.
"I'm going!" she said. "I can't go every week but I've already signed up for the first two - the 21st and the 28th. I'm there. Ella and I are going. We're going to support Kirstie."
The other celebrities set to compete on the hit ballroom dancing series include Ralph Macchio, the original star of the "Karate Kid" movies and Kendra Wilkinson of the E! reality shows "Kendra" and "The Girls Next Door."
