Kelly Osbourne remembers rehab: Sharon had me put in a padded cell
Kelly Osbourne has revealed in a new interview that her mother, Sharon Osbourne, went to great lengths to try to get her to kick her drug habit when she was younger.
"I've been to rehab seven times and to two mental institutions," the 28-year-old television personality explained to Cosmopolitan UK, according to People magazine. Kelly appears on the magazine's September 2013 cover, which goes on sale on Aug. 7.
"My mum even had me put in a padded cell once to scare me," Kelly said. "But like a brat I just sat it out until she said, 'Well, that's not going to work.'"
Kelly went to rehab in 2004 and in 2005 to treat her addiction to painkillers. In 2009, she also completed a 30-day rehab stint and told People magazine that year that her substance abuse began when she was a teenager. She later explained what finally motivated her to kick her addiction.
"What changed for me was looking around and seeing that nobody liked me or wanted to work with me," she said.
Kelly, who regularly appears on the E! show "Fashion Police," became engaged in December to chef Matthew Mosshart.
