Kelly Clarkson may be ready to walk down the aisle in her new music video for "Tie It Up," but in reality, she's over her wedding.

The pop star, who planned to wed fiancé Brandon Blackstock in an outdoor October ceremony, revealed to People magazine that she is no longer planning a big wedding, opting to elope instead.

"We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, 'So, we change our minds and we want to elope.' We just got so overwhelmed by it -- all the decisions," Clarkson said to People magazine.

The couple began dating in 2011 after being introduced by Blackstock's father, who is Clarkson's manager. While there is no trouble in paradise for the two, Clarkson cites their busy work schedules and their family life for the reason behind their canceled ceremony.

"I have a Christmas record coming out," Clarkson said. "I'm doing a bunch of stuff with State Farm right now. We have two kids who just started school. We're going to all these football games and soccer games and volleyball games and Brandon's got one of the biggest artists (Blake Shelton) in country music. He's flying everywhere."

Blackstock, who is Reba McEntire's stepson, is a Nashville-based talent manager and manages Shelton's music career. He became engaged to Clarkson in late December 2012.

Despite sending out numerous Save-The-Date cards -- pre-invitations typically sent 6-8 months before wedding as a courtesy to out of town guests -- the former "American Idol" champion told Ryan Seacrest in a radio interview that all of the wedding plans were becoming all too much for her to handle.

"It's two months away," Clarkson said. "It's end of October. I'm so over it. It's so overwhelming. We're just doing a lot: touring and the wedding and the Christmas album, so I'm over the wedding part."

Clarkson is currently on a nationwide tour with Maroon 5 and plans to release a Christmas album, titled "Wrapped In Red," this October.
