Kelly Clarkson performs on 'American Idol,' what do you think?
Kelly Clarkson returned to "American Idol" to perform "Don't You Wanna Stay" with country star Jason Aldean on Thursday night's elimination show.
Clarkson, 28, who won the first season of "American Idol" appeared on-stage in a fitted black dress and sang the song with a smile on her face. The singer also got called out on the show for revealing her current "American Idol" crush on Twitter earlier in the month.
"I might have a bit of a crush on Casey [Abrams] on American Idol this season," Clarkson Tweeted on April 6. "He's super cute and obviously super talented. Great job tonight man!"
Naturally, Ryan Seacrest didn't waste any time bringing up the singer's Tweets, saying, "It's a very short results show, I've got to get right to it." Clarkson replied, "Just like a man," which got a laugh from the crowd.
Clarkson also said of Abrams on Thursday's show, "He's certainly delicious. He's cute."
On Friday, Clarkson revealed on Facebook that she is actually rooting for a different "American Idol" contestant.
"I had such a great time on Idol last night," Clarkson wrote on Facebook on Friday. "I had fun singing with Jason and I love that every time I go back to Idol the set is even bigger! It's so funny to me that this show has just become a monster. All of the contestants are super talented but I can't help but root for Lauren! She has such an amazing texture to her voice. Regardless of who wins I can't wait to hear some music from some of them."
Clarkson rose to fame in 2002 after winning the inaugural season of "American Idol." The singer has since released four albums at RCA Records, her double-platinum debut album "Thankful" (2003), her multi-platinum double Grammy Award-winning "Breakaway" (2004), "My December" (2007) and her Grammy-nominated "All I Ever Wanted" (2009). Clarkson has sold over 10.5 million albums and Billboard magazine named her the "most successful 'American Idol' of all time."
