Kelly Clarkson expecting first child with Brandon Blackstock
Congratulations to Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock!
The newlyweds, who were married in a private ceremony at Blackberry Farms in Tennessee on Oct. 20, 2013, are expecting their first child together, Clarkson announced on her official Twitter account on Nov. 19.
"I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever : )," Clarkson tweeted to her more than 9 million Twitter followers.
This is the first child for Clarkson, 31, and Blackstock together. Clarkson is a step-parent to Blackstock's two children from his first marriage, a daughter named Savannah and a son named Seth.
Clarkson and Blackstock met through singer Reba McEntire, who is her stepson, and her husband Narvel Blackstock, who is Clarkson's manager.
The original "American Idol" winner originally said in an interview with People Magazine that she and Blackstock had put a stop to their original big wedding plans, opting to elope instead due to their busy work schedules.
"We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, 'So, we change our minds and we want to elope.' We just got so overwhelmed by it -- all the decisions," Clarkson said to People Magazine .
Clarkson recently ended a nationwide co-headling tour with Maroon 5 and released a Christmas album, titled "Wrapped in Red," on Oct. 25.
