Ke$ha tells Jimmy Kimmel about bathing in glitter (Video)
Ke$ha appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Thursday, April 11, to promote her upcoming MTV docuseries "Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life" and surprised Kimmel when she talked about bathing in glitter, having a professional "glitter guy" on staff and having her brother film some wild moments.
The 26-year-old's brother Lagan Sebert, who is a filmmaker, followed her around for two years to catch some of the most outrageous and candid moments of the singer's life. The show is set to premiere on MTV on April 23.
Shortly after her interview with Jimmy Kimmel started, the host asked her what her method was for creating her glittery look.
"I've gone through many different ways. When I first started I was actually ... I was just young and naive and I used to bathe myself in beer and then roll around in it [glitter] and then I started getting a skin rash," Ke$ha, whose real name is Kesha Rose Sebert, said. "It worked it was just like fermenting my skin."
"So then I started using baby oil, which is my method now. My method now is that I fill up a bathtub and then just get all oiled up and I get in," she added. The singer later said, "I've had glitter in all the unmentionable [places], for sure."
Kimmel then asked about the man who the singer hired to apply the glitter on to her and to make sure the audience gets covered in glitter.
"We call him Santa. His real name is boot," the singer said to Kimmel, who began to laugh. "He just kind of follows me around and makes sure ... he makes sure I'm always covered in glitter because I feel like it would be seriously a disappointment if I were ever seen without it."
Ke$ha is not a stranger to some wild moments, she once claimed she had a sexual experience with a ghost. She released her sophomore album "Warrior" in December and initially rose to fame with her debut album "Animal." The first album featured two No. 1 singles - "Tik Tok" and "We R Who We R." The singer is also known for the song "Die Young."
Ke$ha is also set to make an appearance at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 14, to introduce Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, who will perform their new single "Can't Hold Us," according to MTV.
