The portrait is a painting by artist Will Cotton, who was also in charge of the art direction of Perrys music video for her single California Gurls. "The day I found Will Cotton, I knew I wanted to live in his cinematic cotton candy world, she said in a statement. A fantastically art-directed music video and one piece of timeless album artwork later, I can proudly say I am more than a fan.

"I have decided for this to be just the album cover," Perry said after the unveiling. "No print, no nothing, no 'Katy Perry,' " she added. "Hopefully they know it's me by the actual picture."

The album is set for release on August 24. Perry meanwhile, is preparing for her October wedding to comedian Russell Brand. In April Perry said plansfor her wedding were "going great" because her fiancée Russell Brand is planning it. "He has really good taste," Perry said. "He buys those brides' magazines and stuff."

Perry, 25, best known for her hit "I Kissed a Girl" and Brand, a 34-year-old comedian and star of the film Get Him To The Greek, confirmed their engagement in January.
