Katy Perry reveals the release date of her 3D concert movie
Katy Perry announced some big news to fans at the red carpet of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on March 31. The singer revealed that her upcomming 3D concert movie will be released over the 4th of July holiday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film will be titled "Katy Perry: Part of Me," after her recent single "Part of Me," which she debuted at the Grammy Awards on February 12. An exact release date has not been announced but she reportedly told fans, "Go and see it and be a firework." Perry also released a hit single in 2010 called "Firework."
According to the industry paper, the film will chronicle Perry's life on stage and behind the scenes and the footage will be in 3D, much like Justin Bieber's concert film "Never Say Never."
Katy Perry appeared at the Kids' Choice Awards in a green slime crop top and earned the award for Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie for voicing Smurfette in "The Smurfs." Check out the full list of winners from the event here.
"I'm glad I was your Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie! Now...are you READY to go see MY film PART OF ME in 3D JULY 4th WEEKEND," Perry Tweeted on March 31 at around 8 p.m.
Perry was recently in the news for rumors that she is dating male model Baptiste Giabiconi. However, she insisted on her Twitter page that she was "#singleandsatisfied."
The singer split from husband Russell Brand late last year. The 36-year-old comedian cited "irreconcilable differences" in the documents, which were filed in a Los Angeles Superior Court on December 30. The couple had no children together.
