Katy Perry claims she used to be 'square shaped'
Katy Perry told Elle magazine in her March cover story that she hasn't always been happy with her figure, claiming that she was once "shaped like a square" and hated having an ample bustline.
"I was shaped like a square at one time," Perry told Elle magazine "I'm generally around 130 pounds, which is totally fine for me. But when I was a kid, I was the same height and weighed more like 145. And I had enormous boobs that I didn't know what to do with, so I wore minimizers, which were not cute. Those thick-ass straps! I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder... and all I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know... that these things would come in handy someday."
Perry, who guest-starred on "How I Met Your Mother" on Monday night, also admit that the road to success was not always an easy one and the Grammy-nominated singer eventually gave herself an ultimatum.
"I had two cars repossessed, and I was writing bad checks, but I gave myself a timeline," Perry told the fasthion magazine. "I thought, Okay, if I don't make it by 25, I'm just going to get married and pop out some babies and do some crafts."
Perry still intends to have a family with her husband, comedian Russell Brand, who she married on October 23 in India.
"I think some people will die on the stage, and I'm not so sure I want to do that," Perry admit. "Like, I want to have kids! I'm totally fine with saying that. I think some people are scared because they're worried it's going to ruin their career, but I want to live a full life."
The pop singer hasn't limited herself to the stage either, she was in Mexico City over the weekend, promoting her new frangrance, Purr. The fragrance is Perry's first scent and follows the recent launch of crackly black nail polish she collaborated on with OPI.
Photos of Brand from grade school recently surfaced on the internet, revealing that the slender actor was once overweight.
Brand will be hosting 'Saturday Night Live' on February 12 with musical guest Chris Brown, there is no word yet on whether Perry will make an appearance on the live sketch show.
