If Katy Perry and John Mayer were indeed dating, it looks like it was just a summer fling, a report says.

The 27-year-old pop songstress and 34-year-old crooner have not commented. They sparked romance rumors in mid-June and have been photographed and spotted together several times since then, including in a vehicle and in a pool, but never confirmed publicly that they were involved romantically. Us Weekly reported on Thursday that the two had broken up after "a couple months of casual dating."
Perry split from ex-husband Russell Brand late last year. The British comedian cited "irreconcilable differences" in the documents, which were filed in a Los Angeles Superior Court on December 30, 2011. The couple had no children together.
In April, she was linked to Robert Ackroyd, guitarist for the band Florence + the Machine. The two reportedly stopped seeing each other in May.
Mayer has previously been linked to Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Taylor Swift. In the past, Mayer had been very open about several of the women he has dated.
