Katie Holmes: New fashion line inspired by Diane Keaton
Katie Holmes recently debuted a new collection for her fashion line Holmes & Yang, which she says is inspired by actress Diane Keaton.
Holmes, 32, and Keaton, 65, starred together in the 2008 comedy film "Mad Money." Keaton has in recent years been seen sporting a look similar to the famous one she donned in the 1977 Woody Allen film "Annie Hall," which features a derby hat.
Holmes' fall 2011 collection is now available at Barneys in New York City and includes camisoles, suits, gowns and more. Pieces range from $325 to thousands of dollars.
The inspiration of the line is real people "mixed with Diane Keaton," the New York Times quoted Holmes as saying. "For spring we started to do some prints and for fall we're doing more color."
Holmes has said that one of her hobbies is making clothes and told Women's Wear Daily that her husband, actor Tom Cruise, bought her a sewing machine for her birthday in December.
The actress rose to fame playing Joey on the 1990s teen series "Dawson's Creek." She recently filmed the miniseries "The Kennedys," playing Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and will return to the big screen in 2011 in the film "The Son of No One" and "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark." She is also currently filming "Jack and Jill" with Adam Sandler and Al Pacino.
