Katie Holmes called former flame Joshua Jackson following split from Tom Cruise
Katie Holmes' ex-boyfriend Joshua Jackson said that the actress called him - right after her break up with Tom Cruise.
Holmes, 33, filed for divorce from Cruise after five years of marriage in June and apparently reached out to her former "Dawson's Creek" flame to catch up on things.
"Like any old friend, it was like, 'Oh, hi how are ya? What's going on?' 'I had a kid' 'Yeah, that's crazy, I heard!'" Jackson said on Canadian talk show "George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight." "It was nice. It was very nice, actually."
The pair met while shooting "Dawson's Creek" in the late 90s, and were romantically linked during the show's first season in 1998. The pair, who portrayed Joey Potter and Pacey Witter, also portrayed love interests on-screen, but their real-life romance was short lived.
Jackson, known for his work in films such as "Cruel Intentions" and his 2008 show "Fringe," is currently in a relationship with actress Diane Kruger of "Inglourious Basterds." The couple have been together for about 6 years.
Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise on June 28, reportedly "completely surprising" the actor, who was in Iceland shooting the sci-fi flick "Oblivion." Cruise's attorney said the actor is concentrating on his children. Cruise and Holmes share 6-year-old daughter Suri.
Cruise and Holmes were married in a Scientology ceremony in 2006 in Italy. This was her first marriage and Cruise's third - he was previously married to actress Mimi Rogers between 1987 and 1990 and to actress Nicole Kidman. The two wed in December 1990 and divorced in 2001. They have two adopted children - Isabella, 19, and his son Connor, 17.
Holmes has appeared to be doing well since her divorce filing, debuting her fashion collection at New York Fashion Week.
Holmes and her longtime stylist Jeanne Yang launched the fashion line Holmes & Yang in the Fall of 2009. Their Fall 2012 collection was made available at Barneys in New York City and was inspired by Diane Keaton. The line includes camisoles, suits, gowns and separates.
The actress is also set to appear on Broadway in the fall in the family comedy "Dead Accounts" by Theresa Rebeck. The 33-year-old actress will play Lorna, a woman who lives in Cincinnati while trying to piece her life back together.
