Katherine Jenkins 'overwhelmed' after 'Dancing With The Stars' premiere
Katherine Jenkins says she feels overwhelmed after performing on the season 14 premiere of "Dancing With The Stars" and that she thought was going to cry when the judges praised her and partner Mark Ballas for their foxtrot.
Jenkins, a Welsh singer, and pro-dancer Ballas tied for first place with competitors Jaleel White and his partner Kym Johnson, who performed the same dance. Both pairs received 26 out of 30 points. (Read a recap of the season 14 premiere of the ABC show.)
"I didn't know she could dance that well," Ballas, 25, told OnTheRedCarpet.com after the show. "She stepped it up a few gears on the live show."
"I am so overwhelmed," said Jenkins, 31. "I thought I was going to cry when the judges were giving their comments. You're amazing, Mark. I had the best time. I'm loving every minute of it."
The 12 celebrity contestants, which include "Little House on the Prairie" star Melissa Gilbert and "The View" co-host Sherri Shepherd, return to the ballroom on Monday, March 26, to perform another dance routine. The next day, one pair is expected to be the first to be eliminated.
"Next week is the jive," Jenkins said. "I feel even more out of my comfort zone for next week. I think I'll be just as emotional next week. Sorry, Mark, I'm going to be just as stressed."
"I now know how to handle it," Ballas joked.
