Katherine Heigl replaces Halle Berry in star-studded 'New Years Eve'
Katherine Heigl has been cast in the upcoming romantic comedy "New Years Eve" and is slated to replace Halle Berry, who dropped out of the project, according to Variety.
Berry was reportedly cast as a caterer whose rock star ex will be played by rocker Jon Bon Jovi.
Jessica Biel, Seth Meyers, Lea Michele, Sofia Vergara, Hilary Swank, Ashton Kutcher, Robert De Niro, Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer have all signed on for the film.
Ryan Seacrest is in talks to join the film. Unlike the rest of the cast, Seacrest would be playing himself in the movie.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, New Line Cinema also confirmed this week that Ice Cube is in negotiations to play a cop and Josh Duhamel has signed on as a hopeless romantic who's visiting New York.
The film will be directed by Garry Marshall, who also directed the 2010 film "Valentine's Day". "New Year's Eve" will have a similar plot as Marshall's last film, where characters' storylines intertwine throughout the film over the course of New Year's Eve.
"New Year's Eve" is set for release on December 9, 2011.
