Kate Upton deemed 'lardy' by 'pro-skinny' site
Kate Upton has been called many complimentary things since first donning a swimsuit on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine, but now the curvy model has been deemed "lardy" and "well-marbled" by a pro-ana website.
The website SkinnyGossip.com, which denied its pro-anorexic reputation, despite formerly offering "Starving Tips of the Day," posted photos of Upton walking a runway, or as they put it, "confidently lumbering up a runway like there's a buffet at the end of it."
The author of the post, who has also written posts regarding "Christmas Thinspo" aka thinspiration, called Lindsay Lohan fat and vulgar and called out runway models for alleged weight gain.
Of Upton, whose curves have landed her on several magazine covers, she wrote, "She looks thick, vulgar, almost pornographic - and she is a solid 30 lbs too heavy."
The post went on to describe in detail the qualms the writer had with the 20-year-old bikini model.
"Huge thighs, NO waist, big fat floppy boobs, terrible body definition - she looks like a squishy brick," the post read. "Is this what American women are 'striving' for now? The lazy, lardy look? Have we really gotten so fat in this country that Kate is the best we can aim for? Sorry, but: eww!"
Upton, who appears on the latest cover of GQ, has not addressed the criticism. In addition to the men's magazine, she has also recently posed for Vogue and Vogue Spain.
Upton has also been romantically linked to 29-year-old Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander. According to the Daily Mail, the pair were seen at an Aerosmith concert on July 5 and Upton attended a Detroit Tigers game the following night.
Upton first gained internet fame last year when a video of her doing the dance "the Dougie" at a Clipper's game went viral. More recently, she danced to The Rej3ctz's "Cat Daddy" clad only in a bikini for photographer Terry Richardson.
In January, Upton landed in second place on the Most Desirable Woman of 2012 list by the website AskMen.com. In 2011, she was named GQ magazine's "Body of the Year." The model has had roles in "Tower Heist" and "The Three Stooges." She also briefly appeared as herself on the Feb. 18, 2012 episode of "Saturday Night Live."
In February, Upton appeared in a Carl's Jr. commercial where she got intimate with a Southwest Patty Melt.
