Kate Middleton's puppy's name is revealed - Lupo
Kate Middleton, known formally as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, has revealed the name of her and husband Prince William's new puppy.
The black, male Cocker Spaniel is named Lupo, which means "wolf" in Italian. The duchess and William adopted the pup in December. She talked about him while visiting students at an elementary school in London. During her visit, made to promote the children's charity The Art Room, she was given a plush dog doll.
"The children had chosen a dog for her to cuddle during the lesson," one of the teachers, identified as Ms Hancock, told the UK newspaper The Daily Mail. She said, 'What's it called?' and we said, 'Would you like to give it a name?'
St. James's Palace, which represents the prince and his wife, confirmed the name, the UK Press Associated reported. A fake Twitter account has already been set up for Lupo.
"Somebody let me out quick or there's going to be a giant puddle on mummy's new carpet," one message said on Tuesday.
The duchess has been making charity appearances while William is away in the Falkland Islands working as an RAF search and rescue helicopter co-pilot.
During her time at the school, she put on a denim apron emblazoned with her name "Miss Catherine" and joined the students "for a messy art therapy session," palace officials said in a statement.
The duchess and fashion icon wore a tailored, jacquard dress by Irish designer Orla Kiely and brown suede ankle boots to the event.
