Kate Middleton's cousin, Katrina Darling, to be on Playboy cover
Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, will soon have a relative on the cover of Playboy.
Katrina Darling, a burlesque dancer from England who is a distant cousin of the newest royal, is set to be on the cover of Playboy's September issue, according to The New York Post.
Darling, 21, will reportedly be featured in an eight-page nude pictorial. The issue will go on sale on August 17.
The burlesque dancer only learned that she was related to Kate shortly before the royal wedding in April 2011. She said she found out after the press contacted her.
"I am related to her as a second cousin," she told The Insider in March. "My dad's mother and Kate's great grandfather were brother and sister. So that's where the connection is."
She added, "I was totally oblivious to it until the press informed me."
Darling told the entertainment news outlet that she had already incorporated the Sex Pistols' "God Save the Queen" into her burlesque routine for over a year and a half before finding out she was related to Kate. She said she informed the royal family's press office about reporters going public with her story before it made international headlines.
Kate and her sister, Pippa Middleton, were recently seen at the men's final tennis match at Wimbledon on July 8.
Prince William married Kate Middleton, now known as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, on April 29, 2011. It was one of its most popular televised weddings, drawing a global television audience of about 2 billion viewers.
The two wed at Westminster Abbey, the site of Diana's funeral and Queen Elizabeth II's 1947 wedding to Prince Philip.
