Kate Middleton wears elegant coat dress to art exhibition (Poll)
02/08/2012 by Olivia Allin
Kate Middleton, known formally as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, made one of her first solo appearances, attending the Lucian Freud Portraits exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London. Kate attended the private viewing solo while her husband Prince William, Duke of Cambridge of is away doing search-and-rescue training in the Falkland Islands. Kate, who has become a fashion icon, wore a gray tweed Jesire coat dress to the event (see more photos). Middleton got her degree in Art History at the University of St. Andrews. She became a patron of the National Portrait Gallery in London last month. Lucian Freud, who died last summer, was known for his naked full-length portraits that utilized thin layers of oil paint to depict the model's flesh in an unforgiving and often unflattering light. Kate recently celebrated her 30th birthday with a "low-key and private" affair. She is several months older than her husband, who will turn 30 in June. The two will celebrate their one-year anniversary in April. Kate was voted to be one of the "Most Trusted Celebrities" last year and she also made the list of the Most Desirable Woman of 2012. What do you think of Duchess Catherine's National Portrait Gallery ensemble? Vote in our poll below.
