Kate Middleton, aka Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, made her first public appearance on Sunday, December 16, since leaving a London hospital after being treated for acute morning sickness.
Kate appeared at the BBC's Sports Personality award show in her role as the official ambassador of the U.K. Olympic and Paralympic teams. She presented the main award and lifetime achievement honor. Video of the duchess at the event can be seen here. She stood on stage next to David Beckham.
Sebastian Coe, the newly elected chairman of the British Olympic Association and a two-time Olympic middle-distance champion, won the lifetime achievement award while Tour de France and Olympic champion Bradley Wiggins was presented with the sports personality of the year award.
The 30-year-old duchess wore an emerald Alexander McQueen gown, according to Marie Claire, and was smiling as she handed over the awards.
Kate had not been seen in public since she left King Edward VII Hospital in London on December 6. The Sports Personality award show was also the duchess' first public appearance since the death of a nurse at King Edward VII Hospital, who was the victim of a prank call by an Australian radio show.
Her pregnancy and ailment, which is technically referred to as Hyperemesis Gravidarum, was revealed on Monday, December 3.
