Kate Hudson, Matthew Bellamy are engaged (Video)
Kate Hudson, who is pregnant with her second child, is engaged to boyfriend Matthew Bellamy, the baby's father.
The 32-year-old actress revealed the news on NBC's "Today" show on Wednesday, April 27.
"It just happened a week ago," Hudson said, flashing her engagement ring. "I kind of felt like the announcing thing feels so silly. I was just waiting for someone to notice. Matt Bellamy, he's a beautful man and I'm excited."
She and Bellamy, the 32-year-old singer of the British alternative rock band Muse, have been linked together since early 2010. Hudson said the two have not announced a date for their wedding.
Hudson revealed her pregnancy earlier this year and said in a recent interview with InStyle magazine, when asked if she and Bellamy would walk down the aisle soon, "I wouldn't count it out. But Matthew and I kind of skipped that part and went right to the good stuff!"
The two met at the Coachella music festival in California. Hudson, who is in her third trimester, said her current pregnancy was unplanned and that she does not know the gender of her child.
"I love being pregnant," she said on the "Today" show. "I think it's a girl and I'm carrying so different than with Ryder."
Hudson has a 7-year-old son, Ryder, with ex-husband Chris Robinson of the rock band the Black Crowes. The two divorced in 2007 after almost seven years of marriage.
Hudson is known for her role as "Band Aid" groupie Penny Lane in the 2000 film "Almost Famous." She has also starred in films such as "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and "You Me and Dupree" with Owen Wilson, whose girlfriend Jade Duell welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Robert Ford Wilson, in January.
Hudson is currently promoting her latest movie, the romantic comedy "Something Borrowed." The film also stars Ginnifer Goodwin from "Big Love" and John Krasinski from "The Office" and hits theaters on May 6.
On the "Today" show, Hudson also addressed reports that she may play adult film star Linda Lovelace, who rose to fame with the 1972 movie "Deep Throat," in an upcoming biopic tentatively called "Lovelace."
Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was linked to a similar project called "Inferno" but was dropped after her latest stints in jail and rehab, following a probation violation. The film's director had said that it was impossible to insure her.
"I think porn stars are fascinating," Hudson said. "Yeah, I am intrigued by playing Linda Lovelace. I don't know, obviously with everything that's happened, when or how or where that is now going to happen but it's definitely there and on the radar. It's a fascinating story."
