Karina Smirnoff of 'Dancing With the Stars' wants baby, talks Brad Penny wedding
Karina Smirnoff "can't wait" to become a mother and plans to marry her baseball player fiance Brad Penny in January of 2012, a report says.
The 33-year-old "Dancing With the Stars" pro-dancer, who was born in Ukraine, and Penny, who plays for the Detroit Tigers, began dating in 2009 and became engaged on Oct. 4, 2010.
"I can't wait to become a mom," E! News quoted Smirnoff as saying recently. "I love kids. My manager has a beautiful boy, who's my godson. He's in the terrible twos right now. The wonderful twos I must say. But I do want my own kids."
The news outlet said she and Penny plan to exchange vows in January and quoted the pro-dancer as saying "It's a destination wedding. It's perfect. I think we found the perfect place but I can't reveal it just yet because it's like, we want to confirm it."
Smirnoff previously dated actor and television host Mario Lopez after competing with him on "Dancing With the Stars" in 2006. They broke up in 2008. She and fellow "Dancing With the Stars" pro-dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy then started seeing one another and got engaged the following New Year's Eve. They split in 2009.
The cast for the 12th season of "Dancing With the Stars," which begins on March 21, was recently announced and includes actress Kirstie Alley and wrestling star Chris Jericho.
Smirnoff has not yet confirmed officiall if she will appear on the show this season. Entertainment Weekly said she pair up with "The Karate Kid" star Ralph Macchio, who told OnTheRedCarpet.com that the timing felt right to compete on the series.
Last year, Smirnoff competed with Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino of the MTV reality show "Jersey Shore."
