Kaley Cuoco to host 2012 People's Choice Awards
Kaley Cuoco just nabbed her second hosting gig this year.
CBS announced on Thursday that "The Big Bang Theory" actress will host the 2012 People's Choice Awards. Cuoco previously hosted the Teen Choice Awards back in August of this year.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kaley as the new host of the People's Choice Awards," Executive Producer Mark Burnett said in a statement. "She's been making people laugh on top-rated comedy series for the last decade, first with '8 Simple Rules' and now with 'The Big Bang Theory,' Thursday's No. 1 show. I'm looking forward to working with her on a fun-filled, comedy-packed show in January."
The ceremony is set to air on January 11, 2012 at 9 p.m. on CBS. Cuoco takes over hosting duties from Queen Latifah, who hosted the People's Choice Awards for five years.
"Thanks for all the #PeoplesChoice love! I'm very excited and will do my best to make you giggle. And not change the channel," the actress wrote on her Twitter page Thursday.
Voting to determine the nominees of the 41 categories is currently open to the public. Fans can then begin voting for the winners on November 8 after the nominees are announced.
"The Big Bang Theory" actress announced her engagement to boyfriend Josh Resnik on Tuesday, October 25. Resnik, an addiction specialist, proposed to the 25-year-old actress during a quiet date night at home.
