Justin Timberlake performs surprise show in New York City
Justin Timberlake seems to be feeling the music itch.The singer, who has taken to acting in the last few years with roles in "The Social Network" and "Friends With Benefits," returned to the stage on Wednesday with a surprise show in New York City he announced just hours before on Twitter.
"NYC!!! Wanna check out some live music tonight?? Meet me and @freesol at 45th & 9th at 11pm. #bbqnyc #youdontwanttomissthis," he wrote on Wednesday at around 5 p.m. ET.
Timberlake performed at his New York restaurant Southern Hospitality with the Memphis-based hip-hop/soul fusion band FreeSol, which is signed to his Tennman record label, according to Billboard.com. He kicked off the session with his 2002 hit "What Goes Around ... Comes Around."
The audience included Kim Kardashian and her new husband, Kris Humphries, the site reports. His "In Time" co-star Amanda Seyfried was also there.
Timberlake joined in while the band played tracks on their upcoming album "No Rules" set for release on October 11. Timberlake served as an executive producer on the record. There was also a screening of tow of the band's music videos which were co-directed by Timberlake.
"Thanks to everyone who came out to @bbqnyc...amazing night. Now, who's ready to go again @ Irving Plaza," Timberlake Tweeted on Thursday, referring to an upcoming show at the New York City venue where he will perform with the band once again on Thursday. That show will also be free.
Timberlake was recently spotted out in Toronto, Canada with his ex-girlfriend Jessica Biel. The former couple was seen on Sunday, August 28, dining and riding bikes together.
Timberlake, 30, and Biel, 29, announced their break-up in a joint statement in March. The two dated for four years.
