Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel help out Superstorm Sandy victims
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel stepped out together on Saturday, November 10, in Queens to help victims of Superstorm Sandy.
The newlyweds handed out relief backpacks and blankets in the Far Rockaway neighborhood, according to People magazine. The couple was there along with music producer Timbaland for three and a half hours. The neighborhood was heavily damaged by the storm and many of the residents are still without heat and electricity.
The two are just the latest celebrities to donate their time and/or money to help victims of the storm. On November 7, it was reported that Lady Gaga pledged $1 million to The Red Cross for relief. The 26-year-old singer is a New York native.
Also on November 7, comedian and New York native Jerry Seinfeld promised to donate proceeds from his upcoming comedy show in Long Island on December 19 to Hurricane Sandy victims.
Christina Aguilera and Jon Bon Jovi performed during "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together," a benefit concert held on November 2 to raise money for victims of Superstorm Sandy. Other celebrities at the event included Kevin Bacon, Danny DeVito, Whoopi Goldberg and Sting.
The Disney/ABC Television group also took part in the giving, raised more than $16.8 million for the American Red Cross to help the survivors of Hurricane Sandy thanks to its "Day of Giving" on Monday, November 5.
Biel and Timberlake wed in southern Italy before family and friends on Friday, October 19. It marked the first marriage for the pair. Timberlake, a 31-year-old actor and singer who rose to fame with the boy band 'N Sync, and Biel, a 30-year-old actress who once starred in the hit series "7th Heaven," had dated on and off for about five years and got engaged in December 2011.
