Justin Timberlake, beer spokesmodel: Singer promoting Bud Light Platinum
Justin Timberlake is teaming up with Anheuser-Busch to promote Bud Light Platinum.
The singer was named a creative director for the brand and will appear in an ad for Bud Light Platinum during the Grammy Awards on February 10.
In a statement on February 8, the company said Timberlake will "provide creative, musical and cultural curation for the brand."
"Bud Light Platinum brings a refined, discerning aesthetic to beer that plays well with what I'm doing," Timberlake said in a statement. "I'm looking forward to not only being a part of the creative process, but in bringing other talented musicians to the forefront as well."
The partnership begins with the 60-second Bud Light Platinum ad titled "Platinum Night" that will air during the music award ceremony. The spot will also feature Timberlake's new single "Suit & Tie."
"Justin Timberlake is one of the greatest creative minds in the entertainment industry, and his insights will help us further define Bud Light Platinum's identity in the lifestyle space," Paul Chibe, vice president of U.S. marketing, Anheuser-Busch said. "Since launching Bud Light Platinum last year, we've worked to align the brand closely with music, including leveraging tracks by Kanye West and Avicii in our first ads. Partnering with Justin as he makes his return to music brings a new level of relevance and credibility to the brand."
The 32-year-old singer is also set to perform at the Grammy Awards. The singer is a six-time Grammy Award-winner and last performed at the ceremony in 2009.
Timberlake announced last month that his third upcoming studio album "The 20/20 Experience" will be released on March 19. He released the first single from the album "Suit & Tie" with Jay-z on January 14. The new album marks his first record in six years.
