(Photo courtesy of ABC) Justin Long, an actor who played the Mac guy in Apple's "Get a Mac" commercials, recently showcased on Jimmy Kimmel Live! an iPhone that appeared to be jailbroken, meaning that it can be used to download applications from third-parties.

On the program, which aired on Tuesday, Long's iPhone was broadcast on a monitor to shows a humorous text message exchange with a "random person" who had contacted him several months ago.

A list of icons for his iPhone apps are seen, including that of Cydia, which allows users to download applications for a jailbroken iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Apple has tried to stop users from jailbreaking devices by releasing software and upgrades that block it.

Long and Apple have not commented on the matter. The 32-year-old was on the talk show to promote his latest film, the romantic comedy Going The Distance, which stars on-again, off-again girlfriend Drew Barrymore as his love interest.

"There's a time limit on the relationship - she's leaving in six weeks and so I say, 'Perfect, I'm not looking for anything serious' and we end up falling for each other," Long said.
