Justin Bieber's grandparents injured in a car accident
Justin Bieber's grandparents Bruce and Diane Dale were injured on December 27 after they were involved in a car accident.
Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, Tweeted about the news on Tuesday afternoon to fans writing, "My parents got into a car accident today. They flipped into a ditch & totaled the car but thank God they are alive!"
She went on to say her parents were not seriously injured, "My dad has broken ribs. Plz pray 4 him 4 quick healing! Count your blessings & forgive ur parents always. U never know what tomorrow holds!!!"
Ontario police told the Associated Press that Bruce and Diane Dale drove into a ditch after hitting a patch of slushy snow on a road near Stratford, Ontario, the singer's hometown. The car rolled over and struck a small tree before landing back on its wheels.
Bieber has not commented on the incident. The two grandparents helped Mallette raise Bieber when he was a child. She and Justin Bieber lived in their house until he scored a hit record.
Bieber's latest album, the Christmas-themed record "Under The Mistletoe," hit No. 1 on the U.S. chart and as of December 25, has sold 1.2 million copies. It contains several traditional Christmas songs, such as "Drummer Boy," featuring rapper Busta Rhymes, his latest single "Mistletoe" and duet of "All I Want For Christmas Is You," which features original singer Mariah Carey.
Earlier this month the singer's spokesperson was forced to deny rumors that Bieber and his girlfriend, actress Selena Gomez, were engaged.
