Justin Bieber wedding crash 'surreal,' groom says on ABC's 'Good Morning America' (Video)
A Los Angeles couple whose Malibu wedding was crashed by teen pop star Justin Bieber over the weekend spoke about about their experience on Tuesday, July 19.
"We were shocked as anyone to kind of see Justin Bieber scamper by," the groom, Rob McCool, said on ABC's "Good Morning America." "I was actually wiping cake off my face. To see him come running by - it was a very surreal experience."
On Saturday, Bieber, 17, and his girlfriend, fellow pop singer Selena Gomez, had just left a restaurant in Malibu, California and spotted a wedding taking place at a venue near the beach.
McCool, a 32-year-old producer at a Los Angeles post-production house had just married Jeanine Holguin, 31. A witness told OnTheRedCarpet.com that Bieber crashed the party after he heard one of his songs being played by the DJ and being sung by one of the guests.
"I was very surprised," McCool's wife said. "I don't think anybody anticipated a celebrity sighting at our wedding."
The pop star hung out for several minutes and his appearance was captured on video by several guests. He posed for photos with the newlyweds and with several fans, including the bride's cousin, Paige Conway, who had met Bieber in the past as part of a segment on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." She later expressed her excitement seeing him at the wedding on Twitter.
"Paige is a very lucky girl," McCool's wife said. "I think that her having the ooportunity to meet Justin twice is very exciting for her and my other young cousins."Check out a video of McCool and his wife on "Good Morning America" as well as a fan-made YouTube video of Justin Bieber's wedding crash below.
