Julianne Moore gets Hollywood star, kisses Chloe Grace Moretz (Video)
Julianne Moore was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, Oct. 3, and in addition to the actress' family, her "Carrie" co-star Chloe Grace Moretz, her "Don Jon" co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt and director Jay Roach were on hand at the ceremony to celebrate the four-time Oscar nominee.
The 52-year-old received the 2,507th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Moore appeared at the ceremony in a light yellow Dolce & Gabbana dress, which featured a little sparkle in the neckline and cuffs, and Givenchy heels.
Roach, Moretz and Gordon-Levitt spoke at Moore's ceremony and praised the actress.
"I am so excited to be here to honor my great friend and mentor, Julianne Moore," Moretz said. The 16-year-old actress later added, "She has taught me how to be a brilliant mom one day and how to have one of the most amazing, long lasting careers and how to be the most beautiful person inside and out."
Moore thanked her husband, Bart Freundlich, her children, 15-year-old son Cal and 11-year-old daughter Liv, as well as her co-stars and Roach.
"To the loves of my life, my real life, Bart, Cal and Liv, I am so grateful for you everyday," Moore said. "Thank you for making my real life better than any story I've ever read and ever been in."
Moore plays Moretz's mother in the upcoming "Carrie" remake, which hits theaters on Oct. 18. It was announced in September that Moore had been cast in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2" as President Alma Coin.
