Julianne Hough dishes on her return to 'Dancing With The Stars' - See video
Julianne Hough is set to return to her former ballroom home when she makes an appearance on "Dancing With The Stars" on October 11.
Hough will hit the stage with her "Footloose" co-star Kenny Wormald to promote the film's release on October 14.
"I'm so excited. This is like going back to my family, my home," Hough told OnTheRedCarpet.com special correspondent George Pennacchio of KABC Television on October 2. "I feel like I might get a little emotional because the last time I was on the show, I left and went right into 'Footloose.' So now I'm going to go on to the show doing our stuff for the movie and it's like so many mixed emotions, it's crazy."
The last time Hough competed on "Dancing With The Stars" was during season 8 in 2009 when she was partnered with then boyfriend and country singer Chuck Wicks. The two came in fourth place and announced their break-up in November 2009.
Julianne Hough had two mirror ball championships and held the record for most wins before her brother, Derek Hough, broke her record in 2010 when he nabbed his third win with Jennifer Grey. Hough is currently dating "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest.
Since her days in the ballroom, Hough released a self-titled debut country album and a Christmas album in 2008. She is set to release a follow up album in 2012. Hough made her big screen debut in "Burlesque" and will star in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical "Rock of Ages."
With more outside experience, the 23-year-old her idea of beauty outside the ballroom has changed. "It was a little strange dancing in jeans," she joked about how her "Footloose" scenes were different from her "Dancing With The Stars" days. "No it was awesome, I loved it. It was so freeing."
"I now think that beautiful is something different. Not being so glammed up and eyelashes and fake tan, just being really natural and beautiful," Hough added. "That to me is what's pretty now. So, it's weird, my whole point of view has changed."
