Josh Brolin arrested for public intoxication on New Year's - see mug shot
Josh Brolin was arrested for misdemeanor public intoxication in Santa Monica, California, on January 1, it was revealed recently.
The 44-year-old actor was detained just before midnight on New Year's Day after police found him drunk on a sidewalk in the city, according to the Associated Press. He was not ticketed for the incident, the news wire said, quoting a police spokesperson as saying that Brolin will probably not have to appear in court.
Police records show he was booked in jail at 3:02 a.m. The actor was held on $250 bail and was released on January 2 at 7:14 a.m. Brolin has not commented about the incident.
This is not Brolin's first brush with the law. In 2004, he was arrested for spousal battery at the home he shared with wife Diane Lane. However, a spokesperson for the actor said at the time, according to People magazine, that it was "a misunderstanding" and that Lane did not want to press charges.
In 2008 he was arrested along with actor Jeffrey Wright for interfering with police officers after an altercation took place at a bar in Shreveport, Louisiana, where the actors were filming the biopic "W." The charges were later dropped, according to a 2009 article about the incident by The Associated Press.
Brolin will next appear on the big screen in the film "Gangster Squad" alongside Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Sean Penn. The film is set to hit theaters on January 11.
